Society of Educational Administrators

Our members are professionals who already occupy or are aspiring eventually to management and leadership positions in educational institutions at all levels, in government education departments, Training divisions of companies, NGOs, and other private sector organizations where they use the management functions of planning, organizing, influencing, and controlling to design, manage, regulate, monitor, and evaluate pre-primary, primary, secondary, tertiary education and continuing professional/educational programs. They manage the inputs necessary for improving the quality of educational programs and the quality outputs for our nation.

These members are from diverse areas of the formal and informal educational sectors and are employed in a wide variety of positions; some are vice-chancellors, rectors, professors, lecturers, registrars, bursars, librarians, educational planners, chief technologists, SIWES coordinators, headmasters, training managers, proprietors and educational support service providers.

Other members can be found administering educational development projects, the key parastatals of planning research and statistics, administration, finance and accounts, primary and secondary education, higher Professionalism in Educational Administration, Management and Leadership education, technology and science education, the inspectorate, the press, legal and the internal audit units at the federal and state levels of educational governance, serving the nation in various functions at the supervisory and regulatory parastatals – NUC, NBTE, NCCE, UBE, NMEC, NCNE; the R & D and Training – NERDC, NMC, NLN, NTI, SUBEB; the Educational Measurement, Evaluation and Examinations boards – WAEC, JAMB, NBEM, NUC, JAMB, TRCN, NEC, UBEC, TESCOM, Science and Technical Education Boards,  State Ministry of Education, State Primary Education Boards (SPEBs), and State Mass Education Commissions.

Induction

Newly elected members will be inducted during one of the periodic Induction Ceremony during which such members are formally accepted to the Society and introduced further to the Society’s mission, programs and their expected contribution to the Society’s programs and benefits and privileges that will accrue as they participate. Each Induction ceremony will feature a management lecture from a prominent practitioner, group lunch and other activities. Existing members who have not had a previous induction may choose to attend and receive their membership accreditation during an Induction Program to which all members nationwide will be invited. The Induction Ceremony venue will rotate across the country as Council may decide.

Local & State Branches

A minimum of 10 corporate and financially current members are required to form a Local institutional Branch and 25 members for a State Branch subject to approval of the Governing Council.
